Dr. Guy Meadows (PhD) – The Sleep Doctor; London Insomnia ClinicGuy has been studying human physiology for 14 years of which 9 years has been devoted to sleep research and the prevention of sleeping disorders. After graduating with a first class BSc honours degree in Sports Science from Glamorgan University he studied at Kings College London for a Masters in Human and Applied Physiology.

Having gained a Distinction, Guy was awarded a prestigious Doctorate position at Imperial College London working in the sleep research laboratories of the Royal Brompton and Charing Cross Hospitals where he investigated the effects of sleep on the regulation of human brain blood flow and its role in sleep apnoea and the incidence stroke.

He is the author and co author of research papers within eminent physiological journals on areas including the regulation of brain blood flow during sleep, heart failure and sleep apnoea and the risk of stroke during sleep.

In addition to his physiology training, Guy has taken time to study a diploma in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy at John Seymour Associates - University of West of England, as well as Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy at Oxford Cognitive Therapy Centre and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) at Mindfulness Training Ltd.

Guy also receives ACT supervision on a monthly basis from a qualified ACT trainer. In addition Guy has five years personal meditation practice and attends weekly meditation and discussion groups in West London. Guy is also a CHEK Level 2 Nutrition and Lifestyle Coach all of which he utilises in his Insomnia Prevention Plans.

Over the past five years Guy has narrowed his focus solely onto the prevention of chronic insomnia and has developed his own Mindful Sleep Therapy technique to provide highly a successful non drug-based approach for chronic insomnia recovery.
